Here are a few of the syncs that seemed alright. I’ll just list them for now, but hopefully I’ll compile lists of the meaningful correspondences I saw in each of them according to what I don’t like to call my vision . Echoes of Zoso isn’t a bad name. Some of the names piss poor. I’ve been told to understand exactly what I put on the tree. That’s a little good advice I didn’t take.

I’ve watched Echoes of Zoso with a few people who had never seen a sync before and they were convinced. I’ll try to watch all of the others carefully to give some idea of how they rate. All of them were pretty ripe with coincidence.

On my CD player, leave it on repeat means that there is about a 1 second delay between the point where the numbers disappear on the last song and when they appear on the first.

Shrek Defends the Faith

(12/02/01)

Shrek and Judas Priest's Defenders of the Faith

Unpause the CD at the start of the second song, Jawbreaker, when you see the book starting to open at the beginning of the movie. Let the CD repeat. Here are some clips. Some Shrek Is Gonna Roll and Shrek Sentinal.

Army at the Gates of Darkness

(7/20/01)

Army of Darkness and Pink Floyd’s Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Unpause the CD at the start of the first song right before the movie starts. On my DVD player, I unpaused it 24 seconds into the movie. Let the CD repeat, but back it up to the beginning of the song at 5 seconds. Here are a couple of clips. Into The Witch Pit and the Gnome .

Evil Undertow II

Evil Dead II and Tool, Undertow.

Unpause the CD right as the word Rosebud appears as the flower is opening up (from the DVD, I'm not sure about the tape). The music should kick in as the camera flies into the book's mouth.

The Rocky Horror Fight Picture Club Show

Fight Club and The Soundtrack to The Rocky Horror Picture Show (16 songs, the last two are remixes of the Time Warp).

Unpause the CD at the start of the first song right as the main part of the movie starts on the DVD (1 sec before the 20th Century Fox logo first flashes by). Repeat is also like watching a car wreck. Maybe unpausing the DVD when the CD is 3 seconds into the first song is the right start. That's the way it was the first time I watched it.

Our Little Oz

The Wizard of Oz and Lords of Acid, Our Little Secret

Unpause the CD on song 1 at the end of the third MGM lion roar at the beginning. For a more complete description, check out my Our Little Oz page.

Echoes of Zoso

Stir of Echoes and Led Zeppelin IV (Zoso)

Unpause Zoso, Black Dog, as the title appears, just after Kevin Bacon’s credit. Put the CD on repeat or else you’ll miss the part where Kevin Bacon looks at a crazy looking German Sheppard as the singing begins in Black Dog the second time through. If you have Dig, Defenders of the Universe, start it at the same place. It might be even more strongly correlated with the movie. The connection between the band name and the movie is what made me try Stir of Echoes. The first half hour with Dig was nutty.

The Mechanical X-Animal Show

X-Men and Marilyn Manson, Mechanical Animals

Unpause the CD on the first track right as the five lights come together in the beginning. Leave it on repeat. I really like this one. Here's the beginning of a List of X-Animal Syncs.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Heavy Metal Zombie Sexorcism V 1.0

The Original Heavy Metal and White Zombie, La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1

Unpause the CD right as the movie starts and leave it on repeat.

_______________________________________________________________________________

1 Blade of B-Boy Science

Blade Runner and Beastie Boys, Sounds of Science, Disc 1

Unpause the CD when the Jerry Perenchio and Bud Yorkin present credit comes up. Leave the disc on repeat. It starts out a little slow (sync-wise). The first cool thing I noticed happened during the scene where Leon is getting interviewed near the beginning. He says "tortoise, what's that?" and then it sounds like Mike D. quickly says "what was that?" just afterwards (when Leon's no longer talking, but suddenly looks puzzled, just before the camera goes back to the interviewer). It gets nice.

Danzig II X-Fugin-Men

X-Men and Danzig II, Lucifuge

Same as The Mechanical X-Animal Show. This one…. I probably shouldn’t say anything. But if my name for it makes you think of Boys II Men, you are not alone.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Ween X-Men-The Oneness

X-Men and God Ween Satan-The Oneness

Same as The Mechanical X-Animal Show. No reason it should, but it does from time to time as though it had nothing better to do.

Monty Python And The Holy Powertrip

Monty Python And The Holy Grail and Monster Magnet, Powertrip

Unpause the CD as the credits change to the wacky llama style. Leave it on repeat.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Monty Python And Paul’s Holy Grail Boutique

Monty Python And The Holy Grail and The Beastie Boys, Paul’s Boutique

Unpause the CD as the credits change to the wacky llama style. Leave it on repeat.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Reznor Blade Smile

Razor Blade Smile and NIN, The Fragile, Disc 1.

Unpause the CD when the movie fades in. Leave it on repeat.

_______________________________________________________________________________

De La Metal

The original Heavy Metal and De La Soul, Buhloone Mindstate.

Unpause the CD right as the movie starts. Leave it on repeat. Wait until a little while after the credits and then it pretty much doesn't stop until the end.
